St. Michael’s is a Joint Benefice with St Margaret’s, Woodham Mortimer, some 2 miles away, both churches sharing the same Priest. Morning service at St. Michael begins at 9.45a.m. and aims to finish between 10.30a.m. and 10.45a.m.

Holy Communion occurs on the first and third Sundays of each month with Morning Prayer on the second Sunday and an all-age “Family Service” on the fourth Sunday, which is followed by refreshments. In those months with a fifth Sunday, a joint service of the two parishes is held, the venue alternating between the two parishes.

There are small tables and chairs for the very young together with appropriate materials in the church. We also have a box of musical instruments for the children to use and so take an active part in worship.

The two churches are served by an organist who also runs a small choir for special occasions and festivals.

The laity assist as sidespersons; reading the lessons and occasionally leading the intercessions. Worshippers are called to worship by the three bells hanging in the tower.

Please see "Village events" page for special services for Christmas, Easter, etc.

Our Service on Sunday 29th August will be a joint parishes Holy Communion Service for Bell Meadow Day at the later time of 10.30am, and the church will be serving refreshments and hold a display of church records during the afternoon.
